Description

An itinerary to discover the excellence of Valpolicella wine, through a landscape rich in vineyards, terraces and marogne, on the hills halfway between Verona and Lake Garda. A walking itinerary to get to know the origins of Amarone, from the vineyard to the glass.

This tour of discovery of the Valpolicella wine territory begins along a path bordered by marogne, the dry stone walls that support the terracing of the vineyards following the shape of the hills, recognised by Unesco as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Along the way you will encounter ancient wash houses, fruit trees, vineyards and olive trees. The sommelier and companion along this wine walk will talk to you about the ancient and modern art of raisining and the life cycle of the vineyard. She will also help you recognise the characteristic aromas of Valpolicella in nature, the same aromas that you will find in your wine glasses.

You will then be taken on a guided tour of a renowned Valpolicella winery: you will discover the production process of Amarone and its special method of drying. You will taste the wine in combination with typical local cold cuts and cheeses: Soppressa, Monte Veronese and more.

At the end of the tasting, a pleasant walk on the way back will take you to admire the findings of Villa Roma.
