Description

The hike takes place in the hills of Salò, within the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, established in 1989 to ensure the best protection of the area's environmental resources and safeguard its high natural, landscape and environmental value.

The walk winds through ancient roads and landscapes to be respected until reaching the heart of the park, a small 'alpine system' in its own right on the north-western shore of Lake Garda, rich in environmental contrasts: significant differences in altitude determine a certain variety in climate and vegetation.

We will pass through the village of Renzano until we reach the sanctuary of the Madonna del Rio, dating back to the 18th century, suggestively surrounded by a bubbling waterfall and numerous centuries-old cypresses.

We ascend along the small waterfall and then the side of the Rio valley to Bagnolo di Serniga. Here we will pass by the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio, embellished by a portico and a row of cypresses, which has always been a place of devotion to invoke rain in times of drought.

We will continue towards the Stacca pass, one of the many panoramic points of our itinerary, and then to San Bartolomeo, the last of the sanctuaries, from which you can admire the entire Garda basin and where we will stop for a picnic lunch.

We continue our walk towards a memorial cross, another panoramic viewpoint over the Gulf of Salò, and from there we begin our descent, first towards Corna di Salò and then through the woods to Renzano, the starting point of our hike.
